As you will have seen in the national media, veterinary services have been in high demand in the last 18 months due to increased pet ownership. We are managing this current situation as best as we can which often means booking routine appointments later in our diary.
In order to continue providing the best urgent and emergency vet cover and routine health care for all our current and new clients we are making some temporary changes which will come into effect from Monday 31st January 2022.
Temporary Closures and Opening Hours
Our Potters Bar and Woolmer Green surgeries will be closed from 31st January until further notice.
- We are extending our opening hours at Wheathampstead.
- There is no change to our opening hours at Welwyn Garden City.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. However, these temporary changes will allow us to have a full complement of vets, nurses and receptionists at Welwyn Garden City and Wheathampstead throughout the week, enabling us to give the best possible service and care, which remains our priority, including the hospitalisation of sick animals.
Confirmation of our new temporary arrangements are below.
These changes do not affect our normal emergency out of hours service.
Welwyn Garden City | Monday – Friday Saturday |
8.00am – 8.00pm 8.00am – 4.00pm |
Wheathampstead | Monday – Friday | 9.00am – 1.00pm |

How you can help us
To help us to book in and see as many patients as possible:
- If you can’t make your appointment, please let us know so that we can offer this to someone else.
- Book routine appointments well in advance eg booster vaccinations, neutering, animal health certificate etc.
- Only attend the practice if you have a pre-booked appointment including the collection of flea & worm treatment, repeat medications or food.
We really do appreciate your support and understanding during the current situation and are working hard to ensure your pets are treated as soon as possible.
